Effective Sept. 1, 2009, land-clearing burning will no longer be allowed in Kitsap County. “Land Clearing Burning” means outdoor burning of trees, stumps, shrubbery, or other natural vegetation from land clearing projects (i.e., projects that clear the land surface so it can be developed, used for a different purpose, or left unused). [WAC 173-425-030 (9)].
Further questions and inquiries can be directed to Jim Nolan, Director of Compliance, Puget Sound Clean Air Agency (PSCAA) at 800.552.3565, Ext. 4053 or e-mail JimN@pscleanair.org.
We make every effort to ensure that all burn ban announcements and restrictions are posted. Always call or visit your county and local clean air agency and check the DNR fire danger for the most current information.

Fire Chiefs just recently lifted the Kitsap County residential burn ban, the PSCAA’s burn ban on commercial land clearing is still in effect however.
