Clark and Cowlitz Counties have enacted a fire safety ban on all outdoor burning for each county that will begin Sunday, July 15, 2011 and last through September 30, 2012. All residential burning and land-clearing fires will be prohibited until further notice.
Recreational fires (camp fires) are still allowed but this may change based on weather conditions.
Please be advised that during the ban, the Clark County Fire Marshal and the Cowlitz County Fire Marshal have rescinded all burning permits that have already been issued. Permits can be reissued or extended when the ban is lifted.
It is also advised to contact the Southwest Clean Air Agency to be sure the ban has been lifted before resuming burning on October 1, 2012. Call 360-574-3058 for more information or go to http://www.swcleanair.org/
We make every effort to ensure that all burn ban announcements and restrictions are posted. Always call or visit your county and local clean air agency and check the DNR fire danger for the most current information.
