Begining at 4:00 PM on Friday February 3rd, due to current and forecasted air quality, all outdoor burning is prohibited until further notice. This burn ban includes all DNR burn permits; rule burns and any other outdoor burning conducted on DNR protected forest lands.

    We have forest debris to burn in lower Stevens County, near Fruitland. Who do we contact to get a burning permit? Thank you.

    WA state Department of Ecology Eastern Regional Office has air quality authority for Adams, Asotin, Columbia, Ferry, Franklin, Garfield, Grant, Lincoln, Pend Oreille, Stevens, Walla Walla, and Whitman counties. Information and receptionist: 509-329-3400. Find your local air quality authority using the map located to the right. Also, find contact information for air quality authorities here.

    On DNR lands please notify Stevens County Dispatch the day of your burn by calling 684-2555 or 1-800-572-0947.
