Hello Chuck,

Recreational fires generally do not require a permit. The only area is Grays Harbor that I am aware of that has restrictions on beach fires is Ocean Shores.

In general:
Use common sense,
Fire should not be greater than 3 feet across and 2 feet high,
Don’t burn garbage,
Don’t build a fire where it could easily spread to other combustible materials,
Make sure it is out cold before you leave it.

What part of the ocean beach is considered to be forest land?

How does a person get approval to have a recreational fire on the beach area, over 100 feet from the dunes in Grays Harbor County?

Is it required?
